  Historical Atlas of Poland: People, Concepts, Implementations In order to better illuminate the purpose and subject of this publication, it is necessary to refer to existing historiographic approaches related to the Atlas. They indicate that the term 'Polish Historical Atlas' was and is an ambiguous term and is a unique conceptual structure, dynamic and changing in time, functioning in parallel - which does not mean that together - in many spaces, both geographical and intellectual. This conclusion results from analyzes of sources and studies, maps, atlases, included - not always in an unambiguous and obvious way - in the 'Historical Atlas of Poland' and covered by this term.
