  • Description

Geography of Gdynia The publication consists of three main parts. The first one, entitled natural environment, will present such issues as: geographical location, boundaries and area of the city, its geological past, shape and forms of the earth's surface, natural regions and their characteristics, natural resources, soils, climate, the state of surface and underground waters and vegetation. From its content we learn, among other things, that the area of Gdynia is more than twice as large as the state of San Marino and only slightly smaller than the entire principality of Liechtenstein. The second, most extensive one: administrative division, population and economy discusses, among others: division of Gdynia into 21 districts, taking into account their area and population, its national and ethnic structure, religious denominations, natural movement, gender and age structure, employment, as well as its settlement structure, urbanization and migration processes of the population. The author's calculations presented there show that Gdynia holds the largest number of Kashubian communities in Poland and in the world.
