Law: Historical and Legal Studies The first part of this issue contains studies on the issue of broadly understood discrimination in the history of law. They are a consequence of the work as part of the XXVII Conference of Historians of State and Law "Discrimination in History", organized by the Institute of History of State and Law of the University of Wrocław on September 28-30, 2023 in Polanica-Zdrój. The authors have additionally deepened the texts of their papers with conclusions from the discussion held during the conference. The second part Variations includes historical legal texts unrelated to the first batch of articles. It includes two articles devoted to the life and work of outstanding lawyers of past centuries — Guillelmus Durantis and Antonius de Butrio, and is also enriched with the reflections of two young legal historians on Roman imperialism at the interface of law and politics and justices of the peace in France during the Revolution.
