  25th Anniversary of the Entry into Force of the European Convention on Human Rights in Poland Summary in English. The monograph attempts to critically assess the standard of human rights protection specified in the European Convention on Human Rights. The considerations focus on the literal analysis of the content of the Convention and the practices of its application. The authors determine whether the discrepancies in the interpretation of the rights and freedoms referred to in the Convention and in the treaties adopted under the aegis of the UN: 1) allow seeking protection from the UN Committees after obtaining an unfavorable decision of the European Court of Human Rights for the complainant, 2) can be limited by appointing standards recommended by the Council of Europe bodies or by more frequent inclusion of the achievements of UN bodies in the case law of the Court. The interpretation of the Convention must be adapted to contemporary technical, social and cultural realities.
