  Construction Art : Small Towns. Non-growing This double issue of Ehituskunst examines the perspective of the growth and decline of the spatial life of Estonian small towns. Decline is seen as a general negative phenomenon, but it has also had its positive effects in an age of global warming: it could mean austerity and smart development. Is the existing space skills enough to realize this positive side, or would a new toolbox be needed? As a result of what factors has the Estonian city so far developed and what would it be possible to develop in the future? These issues are examined in the issue from as many different angles as possible, including a large number of maps and drawings, text excerpts and conversations not only with architects but also with historians, heritage conservationists, urban planners, anthropologists and other professionals.
