  Architecture The 57th issue of Ehituskunst, which borrows its title from a thought process once held by Louis Kahn, explores the topic of material in architecture. Louis Kahn knows that if you ask, “What do you want, Tellis?” it will say, “I like the Vault.” And if you then say to Tellis, “You know, vaults are expensive, I could put a concrete bridge over you instead. What do you think about that, Tellis?” Tellis will say, “I like the Vault.”” The conversation took place in 1971, 43 years ago. Does today's Tellis like drones and algorithmic cylinders? Does what is built with machine precision feel somehow different from what is built by human hands? Is it possible to program the atmosphere?
