Sources and Monographs TN KUL = Maioris ad limina templi...: Epigraphic Poetry of the Carolingian Era: Research and Translations The authors of this book, from all the poetry of the Carolingian era, want to bring epigraphic poetry to light. The field of research is limited here to works that were either actually poetic inscriptions in churches and monasteries, in their gates, on altars, sarcophagi, reliquaries, under mosaics and paintings, or were written with such a purpose. The source material was taken from the Monumenta Germaniae Historica publishing series , from the texts of the four most famous representatives of the Carolingian revival: Paul the Deacon, Alcuin, Theodulf of Orléans and Raban Maur.
