  This Year, We Have to Be Happier Than Last Year! Changes in Czech Corporate Culture After 1989 This book explores the topic of corporate culture transformation in the Czech context, specifically in the domestic branches of foreign corporations that were newly established after 1989 and became models for the adoption of “Western” corporate culture in the domestic context. Unlike other publications that view corporate culture as a tool for managing and improving organizational performance, this work examines the issue of corporate culture from the perspective of employees. Based on oral history research (interviews with people from all levels of the corporate hierarchy), the author seeks to answer the question of whether and how neoliberal values rooted in transnational corporate culture have transformed (and continue to transform) not only the workplace but also the behavior and experiences of individuals in their non-work, private lives.
