  Jews in Frýdek-Místek Region : the Jewish Community and Its Creators The book follows the process of creation, development, decline and extinction of the Jewish community in the Frydek and Mistek, which represents one of the Jewish communities in Moravia and Silesia evolving due to the emancipation of the Jews. Unlike most existing literature on the Moravian and Silesian "emancipation" of Jewish communities, this book pays attention not only external phenomena. It also presents the Community itself, its internal evolution and limits, different approaches, the development of common institutions and religious, and later the national identity members of the Frydek-Místek Jewish community. The work follows the limits of integration of Jews into the surrounding society, as well as territorial specifics stemming from the fact that the community shaped the Moravian-Silesian border.   Kniha sleduje proces vzniku, rozvoje, úpadku a zániku židovské komunity na Frýdecku a Místecku, jež reprezentuje jedno z židovských společenství na Moravě a ve Slezsku vyvíjejících se v důsledku emancipace Židů. Na rozdíl od většiny dosavadní literatury týkající se moravských a slezských „emancipačních“ židovských komunit si tato práce nevšímá pouze vnějších jevů, ale věnuje pozornost také samotnému společenství, jeho vnitřnímu vývoji a limitům, různým koncepcím rozvoje společných institucí a náboženské, a později také národnostní identitě členů frýdecko-místecké židovské komunity. Práce sleduje meze integrace Židů do okolní společnosti, jakož i teritoriální specifika vyplývající ze skutečnosti, že se dané společenství utvářelo na moravsko-slezské hranici.
