  Remember the Vacaresti Monastery The book tries to save at least the memory of the monument from Vacaresti, which first due to indifference and finally due to criminal bad faith, could never be an ornament of the city of Bucharest. In order to highlight the importance of the Vacaresti Monastery, it was thought appropriate to open the volume with the essay Vacaresti Monastery or the testament of traditional art, written more than seventy years ago by arch. GM Cantacuzino, followed by a short study of his work. The work presents the historical context of the existence of the Vacaresti Monastery until its destruction, and then describes in detail the monument itself. The architecture of the Vacaresti Monastery is illustrated, first of all, by the survey drawn up in 1908 by two students of the School of Architecture in Bucharest, the future architects Constantin Iotzu and Alexandru Zagoritz, bringing back to public attention a significant work carried out at the beginning of architectural education in Romania.
