  Images of the Orient in Soviet and Contemporary Porcelain : Exhibition Catalogue Edition prepared for the exhibition "Images of the East in Soviet and Modern Porcelain" from the cycle "Submission to Christmas". In the early period of the development of the Soviet porcelain art, the appeal to the images of the East was a natural continuation of the artistic traditions of the "World of Art" and the aesthetics of the Russian seasons. In the future, porcelain masters focused on themes of liberation from colonialism and patriarchy, rural labor and crafts, culture and lifestyle of the Eastern peoples, which were in demand in the USSR. Significant attention was also paid to the literary heritage of the East: works were created for the anniversaries of Abu-l-Kasima Firdousi, Shota Rustaveli, Alisher Navoi, the epic "David Sassoonsky" and others. In the 21st century, the phenomenon of the East still attracts the attention of porcelain artists who perform representative compositions.

  Издание подготовлено к выставке «Образы Востока в советском и современном фарфоре» из цикла «Поднесение к Рождеству». В ранний период развития советского фарфорового искусства обращение к образам Востока являлось закономерным продолжением художественных традиций «Мира искусства» и эстетики Русских сезонов. В дальнейшем мастера фарфора сосредоточились на востребованных в СССР темах освобождения от колониализма и патриархальности, сельского труда и ремёсел, культуры и быта восточных народов. Значительное внимание уделялось также литературному наследию Востока: были созданы произведения к юбилеям Абу-л-Касима Фирдоуси, Шота Руставели, Алишера Навои, эпоса «Давид Сасунский» и др. В XXI веке феномен Востока всё так же привлекает внимание художников-фарфористов, исполняющих репрезентативные авторские композиции. Каталог знакомит читателя с работами Л. К. Блак, А. В. Воробьевского, Т. О. Давтяна, Н. Я. Данько, А. М. Ефимовой, Р. Р. О'Коннель-Михайловской, О. М. Мануйловой, М. Н. Моха, Е. Р. Трипольской, А. В. Щекотихиной-Потоцкой, Т. В. Афанасьевой, А. А.
