  Thought and Language The book includes selected texts by the outstanding Ukrainian philologist Oleksandr Opanasovich Potebnia (1835–1891), devoted to two important areas of his research — the theory of language and the theory of myth. The first includes the monograph “Thought and Speech” (1862) and the article “Psychology of Poetic and Prose Thinking” (1910). The second includes the studies “Poetic and Mythical Thinking” (1905), “The Character of Mythical Thinking” (1905), “Myth and Word” (1905), and “On the Participation of Language in the Formation of Myths” (1905).

  До книги ввійшли вибрані тексти видатного українського філолога Олександра Опанасовича Потебні (1835–1891), присвячені двом важливим напрямам його досліджень — теорії мови та теорії міфу. До першого належать монографія «Думка і мова» (1862) та стаття «Психологія поетичного і прозаїчного мислення» (1910). До другого — розвідки «Мислення поетичне і міфічне» (1905), «Характер міфічного мислення» (1905), «Міф і слово» (1905) та «Про участь мови в утворенні міфів» (1905).
