  The Kings of Rus'-Ukraine and Our State In the 11th century, there were already monarchs in Russia, crowned by the Pope, although the coronation of Daniil Romanovych in 1253 is better known. His descendants were called kings, and the state was called a kingdom. In history textbooks, this state is known as the Galician-Volyn Principality, although it is more correct to call it the Kingdom of Rus', and the rulers as Rus' kings. The Hungarian kings also claimed the lands of Galicia and Volhynia, and from the 13th century. called themselves kings of Galicia and Lodomeria. This title was also passed on to the rulers of the Holy Roman Empire, the Austrian and Austro-Hungarian Empires. This book is about Ukrainian monarchical traditions, real and nominal kings of Rus'.

  У XI столітті на Русі вже були монархи, короновані Папою Римським, хоча більш відома коронація Данила Романовича в 1253 році. Його нащадки іменувалися королями, а держава — королівством. У підручниках історії ця держава відома як Галицько-Волинське князівство, хоча коректніше називати її королівством Руським, а правителів — руськими королями. Угорські королі теж претендували на землі Галичини й Волині та з XIII ст. іменували себе королями Галичини й Лодомерії.
