Vocabulary and Phraseology of the Ukrainian Business Language in Dictionaries of the 20th - Early 21st Centuries The monograph is dedicated to the study of dynamic processes that took place in the vocabulary and phraseology of Ukrainian business language during the 20th and early 21st centuries. Studying the history of the formation of official business vocabulary and phraseology is important for the normalization of Ukrainian business language at the current stage of its development.
The study was conducted on the material of 37 Russian-Ukrainian general language dictionaries and dictionaries of business and legal language, which, among other things, made it possible to find out the principles of formation of the registers of these lexicographic publications and to identify the main trends in the development of official business lexicography in the specified period.
In order to carry out a comparative analysis of lexemes and phraseological units recorded in the dictionaries of the studied period, four lexical-semantic groups of derivatives from the roots -ver-, -ruk-, -vѣd-, -jav-, most used in business speech, were singled out. Variability in the use of key terms is also considered.
Specific examples demonstrate the mechanisms of Russification of the Ukrainian official business vocabulary, which were used in the 1930s and 1980s. Despite the fact that a significant part of the modern Ukrainian official business vocabulary is made up of borrowings from the Russian language, recently in Ukrainian lexicography the trend of forming official business terminology on an originally Ukrainian basis is increasingly developing. Trying to exclude from business terminology lexical and grammatical elements foreign to the Ukrainian language, lexicographers today turn to the works of linguists of the 1920s — one of the most productive periods in the history of Ukrainian lexicography. The author claims that the use of experience and achievements of linguists of the beginning of the 20th century is a necessary condition for the normalization of business language at the current stage of its development.
In order to visualize dynamic processes in the official business vocabulary for the specified period, comparative tables have been compiled. Standardization recommendations for compilers of official business dictionaries are provided.
The book is intended for lexicologists, compilers of dictionaries, teachers of higher educational institutions, philologists and anyone interested in the history of the development of the Ukrainian language.
Монографію присвячено дослідженню динамічних процесів, що відбувалися в лексиці та фразеології української ділової мови впродовж ХХ — початку ХХІ ст. Вивчення історії формування офіційно-ділової лексики та фразеології є важливим для унормування української ділової мови на сучасному етапі її розвитку.
Дослідження проведене на матеріалі 37-ми російсько-українських загальномовних словників і словників ділової та правничої мови, що, окрім іншого, дало можливість з’ясувати принципи формування реєстрів цих лексикографічних видань і виявити основні тенденції розвитку офіційно-ділової лексикографії в зазначений період.
Для здійснення порівняльного аналізу лексем і фразеологізмів, зафіксованих у словниках досліджуваного періоду, було виокремлено чотири найуживаніші в діловому мовленні лексико-семантичні групи похідних від коренів -вер-, -рук-, -вѣд-, -яв-. Розглянуто також варіативність у використанні ключових термінів.
На конкретних прикладах продемонстровано механізми русифікації української офіційно-ділової лексики, які використовувалися в 30—80-х рр. ХХ ст. Незважаючи на те, що значну частину сучасної української офіційно-ділової лексики складають запозичення з російської мови, останнім часом в українській лексикографії все більше набуває розвитку тенденція формування офіційно-ділової термінології на споконвічно українській основі. Прагнучи виключити з ділової термінології чужі для української мови лексичні та граматичні елементи, лексикографи сьогодні звертаються до праць мовознавців 1920-х років — одного з найпродуктивніших періодів в історії української лексикографії. Автор стверджує, що використання досвіду та досягнень лінгвістів початку ХХ століття є необхідною умовою нормалізації ділової мови на сучасному етапі її розвитку.
Для візуалізації динамічних процесів в офіційно-діловій лексиці за вказаний період складено порівняльні таблиці. Подано рекомендації зі стандартизації для укладачів офіційно-ділових словників.
