  The Destiny of Words This book researches the ways of enriching the vocabulary of the Romanian language and the procedures and means of forming new words. The origin of some old words and terms used in current speech is established. Some idiomatic expressions, some famous aphorisms and maxims are examined and explained. The origin of some proper names, the meaning of some archaisms and regionalisms is analyzed.

  Destinul cuvintelor cercetează căile de îmbogățire a vocabularului limbii române, procedeele și mijloacele de formare a cuvintelor noi. Se stabilește originea unor cuvinte și termeni vechi folosiți în vorbirea curentă. Sunt examinate și explicate unele expresii idiomatice, unele aforisme și maxime celebre. Se analizează proveniența unor nume proprii, semnificația unor arhaisme și regionalisme.
