Anthology of Belarusian Poetry of the 20th Century From the beginning of the days, Vilnius was the main city for the ancestors of modern Belarusians, the center of all the life of the region, the cradle of the modern Belarusian nation. Folk songs and proverbs were written about Vilnius, written by poets of the Middle Ages, the Enlightenment and the New Age.
