  Study on Weathering Mechanism and Prevention and Control Technology of Sandstone Cave Temples in Gansu Province There are many cave temples in my country, which are widely distributed, large in scale, complete in system, and have unique artistic style and cultural connotation. They are one of the most outstanding cultural heritage types in my country. Among the 5,058 national key cultural relics protection sites announced in my country, there are 288 cave temples, which have great historical, artistic, scientific, cultural and social values. However, these sites have been exposed to the natural environment for a long time, and have been affected by rain, snow, groundwater, sunshine, wind, soluble salts and other factors, and have developed a large number of diseases. Among them, surface weathering is a disease that directly affects the surface appearance of the site and indirectly affects the life of the site. The preservation status of a large number of caves is deteriorating and urgently needs protection.
