Polish Biographical Dictionary: Volume LV/3, Issue 226 The biography of Trzebiesław of Trląg (d. 1344), dean of Kruszwica, takes us back to the Middle Ages . The 16th century is represented by, among others, Aleksander Trzebiński (d. 1644), bishop of Przemyśl. The 17th century was largely dominated by the Tryzna family from the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. Their members include, among others, Hrehory Tryzna (c. 1510-1571/2), Hospodar Marshal and Castellan of Podlasie and Smolensk; Mikołaj Tryzna (d. 1640), Grand Treasurer of Lithuania; Gedeon Tryzna (c. 1595-1652), also Grand Treasurer of Lithuania; Marcjan Tryzna (d. 1643), Bishop of Vilnius, Belarusian suffragan, Lithuanian Vice-Chancellor; and Józef Tryzna (d. 1656), Orthodox archimandrite of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra. In the Crown of the Kingdom of Poland, towering above them is the figure of Andrzej Trzebicki (1607-1679), Bishop of Kraków and Vice-Chancellor of the Crown. Among the 18th-century figures, it is worth noting Andrzej Trzciński (c. 1749-1823), professor of physics at the University of Kraków and creator of an eccentric reform of Polish orthography. Among the writers present in the notebook is Andrzej Trzebiński (1922-1943), a playwright and prose writer executed by the German occupiers; among the theatre people – Teofil Trzciński (1878-1952), a theatre manager and director; and among the film people – Leon Trystan (1899-1941). We also present two of the most famous Polish jazz musicians: Andrzej Trzaskowski (1933-1998) and Krzysztof Komeda Trzciński (1931-1969). A prominent feature in the issue is the married couple of physicochemists: Bogusława Trzebiatowska (1908-1991) and Włodzimierz Trzebiatowski (1906-1982). Also featured are the sculptor Zofia Trzcińska-Kamińska (1890-1977), the linguist Józef Trypućko (1910-1983), and the publisher Władysław Trzaska (1881-1964), co-founder of the Trzaska-Evert-Michalski Bookstore and Publishing House.
