Last Violet Pallor In order for Ana Schnabl to find out what The Last Amethyst Deceiver - the title of one of her favorite band's songs - actually means, she had to meet amateur mycologist and fungi determinator Katarina Grabnar Apostolides by chance. But The Last Purple Fading isn't just another mushroom book bursting with "did you know" columns; is also a book about Katarina, who loves mushrooms - about a woman with an unusual, sometimes painful life story, about a tiny woman - a root, a mother of two brilliant girls, who drives a huge SUV and carries a machete on her belt in the forest.
In its central "story" part, The Last Purple Pale presents the life of the woman portrayed with all the pains and obstacles, through the experienced and sparkling writing of Ana Schnabl. It is a unique work that brings the two authors closer together through getting to know and revealing the sources of their love for fungi and invites the reader into the wonderful world of mycelia and biofluorescence. It consists of a central biographical section that offers countless anecdotes and experiences with mushrooms, from pickings and poisonings, and an appendix that presents some of Katarina's favorite mushrooms as well as recipes. The supplement is also decorated with magical illustrations by Ana Jakob Jerčič.
