• Description

The Door to Winter This collection includes new stories and a short story from 2022–2023 by Dmitry Gromov and Oleg Ladyzhensky, co-authored under the pseudonym Henry Lion Oldie. These are works from the time of a full-scale war unleashed by Russia against Ukraine. In these stories, the reality of military everyday life is intertwined with mysticism and fantasy, the tragedies of people - with hope, and cruel and extreme trials - with humanity and compassion. The heroes of Oldie's stories are for the most part the same ordinary people as you and I. Old and young, civilian and military, living and dead - Ukrainians who have the destiny to live in our harsh times. But each of them has its own inner core, and each one somehow finds the strength to resist the aggression, evil and despair that has fallen on Ukraine. Dmitry Gromov and Oleg Ladyzhensky (Henry Lion Oldie) were recognized as the best science fiction writers in Europe; laureates of the National Prize of Ukraine in Science Fiction, holders of the honorary badge "Golden Writer of Ukraine", as well as many foreign literary awards.
