Research on Motivation of Modern Chinese Lexicon This book takes modern Chinese literature as the corpus and conducts research on the motivation of words, the types of motivation, the methods of exploring motivation, and the internal form of words, as well as the relationship between internal form and motivation. The traditional research path of word motivation is to trace concepts from word form, while this book is the opposite. From the perspective of conceptualization, it simulates the process from concept to word form, redefines the motivation of words, divides the types of motivation, and re-understands the relationship between word motivation and internal form. This book believes that the motivation of words is the reason and basis for conceptualization, which mainly includes four types: conceptual element motivation, lexical motivation, cognitive motivation, and cultural motivation. The internal form of words reflects the focus of conceptual elements, but it is not a component of word motivation, let alone the motivation of words. On the basis of the above research, this book, in view of the characteristics of modern Chinese words, summarizes nine methods to explore motivation, such as identifying form and sound, tracing the source, exploring culture, synonym mutual proof, antonym mutual proof, synonym mutual proof, homonym mutual proof, cognate mutual proof and word meaning system reference.
