  Semiotics of Russian Culture: A Selection of Articles The intellectual collaboration between Yuri Lotman and Boris Uspenski is one of the most interesting and important episodes in the humanities of the second half of the 20th century. At first glance, they did not have much in common, they belonged to different generations, had different training, had big differences in their worldview and lived in different cities. From the very first meeting in the fall of 1963, a close friendship and close cooperation was born in Kummati. A total of fourteen publications were published by Lotman and Uspenski, of which nine of the most important are represented in this selection. The articles mainly deal with the semiotic research and understanding of Russian culture, but also the foundations of general cultural semiotics are proposed.
