  My America: Columns and Incidents 1871-1892. A collection of feuilletons and stories, written in the years 1871–1892, in which Josef Václav Sládek informed the Czech reading public about his experiences during his trip to North America 1868–1870. The first attempt to summarize and reconstruct Sládek's journey in his feuilletons was made by Sládek's biographer F. Strejček in the so-called American Pictures. Our edition, on the other hand, chooses a chronological arrangement of the individual feuilletons, whereby we have captured the way in which Sládek himself gradually informed the Czech readers about his journey to an experienced continent full of hope.
