Description
- Finno-Ugric Fieldwork and Museum Collections: Insights into Research In addition to storing and making sense of the cultural heritage related to our country and Estonians, the tradition of studying the Finno-Ugric peoples has played an important role in Estonian humanities and cultural history. The articles in this collection expand the knowledge of Finnish-Ugric research history in Finland and introduce the development trends of this field in Finland, Hungary and Russia as well. The processes of creation of doing science and the questions of representation related to them and the relationship of the researcher with the researched continue to be topical topics of discussion in ethnology. In addition to finding new research questions and opening perspectives on their narrower research object, researchers are tasked with recognizing and analyzing these changes and shifts in meaning in the research tradition. The authors of the articles in this collection deal with the specifics of their field of research and the interpretation of the transformations that have taken place in them.
