Volumina Constitutionum: Volume V: 1669-1696, Part 1: 1669-1676 The first volume of the fifth volume of the Volumina Constitutionum covers the legislative output of the general sejms that met in the years 1669–1676. It was a period in the history of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth abounding in dramatic events related to both external threats (the war with Turkey) and fierce internal disputes (brutal fights between political parties). Ten Sejms were convened at that time, three of which were broken off. Two of them - ordinary and extraordinary in Warsaw in 1672 - were destroyed despite the news of the impending Turkish invasion.
