As important as the literature itself, the topic is traditions, cultural heritage and the social identity of the inhabitants of this area. The literature tells about their experiences, imagination and collective memory, and above all about the integration of their own culture with what is left of their predecessors. The titular literary heritage means the Polish-language literature of the region, but also includes as much of its German, Czech or Lusatian heritage as we can tell today.
