The book summarizes the results of recent research on the urban development of Vilnius in the period from the beginnings of the city to the construction of the defensive wall in 1503-1522. The spatial structure of the city is analyzed - the totality of material objects (topography, districts, roads and streets, cultural layer, buildings, etc.) and organization (functional, communication, spatial, social relations). The structural changes and factors influencing them are analyzed in the natural, historical-political and socio-cultural context.
