  A Picture of the Survivors' Community in the Central Registry Office and CKZP Statistics The Department of Records and Statistics, existing at the Central Committee of Polish Jews from 1944 to 1950, dealt with gathering information about Jews in Polish lands after the war, searching for missing persons and correspondence between seeking family members and found survivors. In the surviving archives of the WEiS, there are three hundred thousand registration cards that were to be used to build the Central Card File - a collection of data about those who survived the Holocaust. This book presents the demographic and statistical calculations carried out on this resource, the purpose of which is to attempt to approximate the structure of the post-war community of Polish Jews and the losses brought about by the Second World War.
