Serbian Land and Maritime in the Age of Nemanja: Book 1: From the Assembly in Rasu to the Assembly in Deževu Đorđe Bubal's book is the first part of a three-volume review of the history of Nemanjić Serbia, the home state of the Serbian people in the Middle Ages. The state of Nemanjić represented the framework of political, religious and cultural unification, which will represent the basis of Serbian identity until today. The book was conceived and written as a manual, a starting point in the everyday scientific work of researchers and a teaching aid for students of history, but also as an overview synthesis for getting to know the most brilliant period of the Serbian Middle Ages. This book covers the period, mainly through appearances and events of political history, from the appearance of Stefan Nemanja, the progenitor of the Nemanjić dynasty, to the Parliament in Deževo in 1282, when Milutin was appointed king.
