  Chinese Ceramics in England 1560 1960: Collectors, Collections and Museums The study of Taiwanese history cannot but be contextualized within the broader context of East Asian colonial history. This book analyzes the foreign rule of "colonial empire Japan" from 1895 to 1945. Using East Asia as a whole, it explores the ruling system of the "homeland" and the interplay between colonized Taiwan and Korea, Manchukuo, and the occupied territories of North China, offering a thorough analysis. The author reinterprets the meaning of "assimilation policy" and organizes it within the framework of "national integration" and "cultural integration," demonstrating that "assimilation" is not merely an analytical concept to be used to explain something, but rather a concept in itself that requires explanation. In a narrow sense, this book can be considered a study of colonial educational history, while in a broader sense, it can be placed within the genealogy of the political history of colonial rule, even intersecting with regional studies such as Taiwanese history, Korean history, and Chinese history.
