  Masterpieces of Early Buddhist Sculpture, 100BCE-700CE Today, major works of Buddhist sculpture can be found in many museums in the West, China, Japan and many other countries. Seeking to gather as many of these preeminent works as possible, the museum drew on its strong international network, built from years of amicable communication and exchange. Through numerous long-term discussions, 200 masterpieces of Buddhist sculpture were selected from thirty institutions in eight different countries, including Korea, India, China, Japan, and Vietnam. The resulting exhibition is unprecedented both in size and scale, being the first to assemble such a diverse array of masterpieces of ancient Buddhist sculpture.
