The art of orchestral conducting in Bulgaria (Origin and Development in the Twentieth Century) This book reflects the origin of orchestral conducting in Bulgaria as a natural historical process, closely linked to the development of opera and symphonic orchestras in Bulgaria in the early twentieth century. The development of this art is a reflection of social and cultural attitudes in the Bulgarian society and expresses the trends in the music community for the inclusion principles enshrined in the Western musical tradition. The question of what constitutes the art of orchestral conducting is closely related to its role in the functioning of the symphony orchestra, because the conductor is first and foremost a musician, who has the ability to shape the artistic character of the musical work, then - the person who builds the relationship between himself and the music and a complex organism called orchestra. It is this last element which the complexity of conducting business focuses into.
