China National Geopark: Wudalianchi Geopark is a new phenomenon that emerged in the 21st century. It is a pioneering effort in the field of geological services and a new brand in the tourism industry. As the name suggests, a geopark is a park with geological relics as the main objects of viewing and sightseeing. While the term "geological relics" may sound unfamiliar, all natural mountains and rivers are considered geological relics formed by geological processes. Natural parks composed of real mountains and rivers all fall under the category of geoparks. However, these areas were not officially designated before this century. At the end of the last century, UNESCO decided to establish the "World Geoparks Network." China's Ministry of Land and Resources responded positively to this call and launched the China National Geopark Project. The geological park has three main tasks: first, to protect the natural environment and geological relics; second, to popularize earth science knowledge and promote the improvement of scientific literacy of the whole nation; third, to carry out tourism activities and promote local economic development.
